This is Jonathan Haber's blog on his personal learning journey - gaining a degree in a year through MOOCs. He writes well, and it makes fascinating reading.

An interesting comment - there's a lot of eagerness to just learn out there -, and good to discover Steve Wheeler's blog as well. And excuse my incompetence in posting the post twice. It was so slow on my computer at home that I thought the first one hadn't gone!
What Jonathan Haber writes (and I really enjoy his writing style! ;-p), chimes with something that I just read on a comment by Steve Wheeler, in response to another comment from John Curran:
"Thanks John. In talking about MOOCs you identify a key example of the intrinsic value of knowledge - learning for fun. Why do you think so many people enrol on MOOCs? It is because they are free, sure. But for many it is also because there is no pressure on them to follow through and gain a qualification/certificate at the end of the course. As the current business models for most MOOCs stand, students only pay if and when they need the accreditation". Some interesting points :-)
