Registered teacher - want to work virtually? A job opportunity with the VLN Primary

Due to growth in schools’ participation in the Virtual Learning Network Primary School a position has become available for a 0.4 FTTE to provide elearning support. This position is fixed term for the 2015 school year (January 26th - December 18th 2015). Remuneration will be in accordance with the Primary Teachers’ Collective Agreement. Reporting to the VLN Primary School ePrincipal and Governance Group.

This position requires a person with a high degree of digital literacy and experience in teacher professional development. They should be a NZ registered teacher, with a sound knowledge of the curriculum and teaching experience. They will need to have excellent time management skills, be self motivated, innovative and confident at working and collaborating in online environments.

A good grasp of Google Apps for Education is essential, as is a working knowledge of a range of social media tools. Training will be given in the use of Adobe Connect used in our online classrooms. The position is virtual therefore applicants aren’t restricted by their geographic location, but must have access to fast and reliable internet. Hours of work are to be in the mornings during the school week and are flexible according to the VLN Primary timetable and in negotiation with the ePrincipal. Thanks for the signal boost Hazel :-)

Just in addition - for this position we are employing locally & not globally. Although i would love to push the boundaries into a global workplace for the right person, this position requires a NZ qualified educator with sound knowledge of our curriculum and NZ teaching practice.

Though there are lots of future possibilities for global educators to work with us, I would also need to explore how this would work in a legal sense - would love to hear from anyone with experience in this.
