Are you looking for a job leading up a technology centre in Auckland?

Don't just play on your phone, program it

President Barack Obama

We at SCRATCHPAD believe Kiwi kids need to move to being creators rather than just users.

We are a successful educational venture focussed on helping students love, use, and program technology - to help them develop skills that prepare them for the future and last a lifetime.

The program is tailored for each student and our aim is not just to prepare learners to pass an exam. We aim to nurture confident, independent learners, who will be prepared to meet challenges in their schools and beyond.

We are looking for a Centre Manager based at our Centre in St Lukes, Auckland. In this new and exciting role, you will be responsible for the growth and development of this centre.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Overseeing the learning experiences / facilitated sessions students, and ensuring the smooth running of the centre after school hours during weekdays, and a half day on weekends.

  • Maximising the progress of every student.

  • Ensuring the centre reaches and maintains targets related to both the quality of student learning and also the number of enrolled students.

  • Promoting, marketing and developing the brand to the general public and educational professionals.

For this role we are looking for someone who is an excellent communicator, has experience of managing a budget, marketing, PR, facilitating professional development and managing people. What is most important in this role is that the successful candidate has the drive, creativity, tenacity and the ambition to make this centre a real success and make a positive difference to our students. The successful candidate must be passionate about education and, although an education background and experience in IT is preferable, they are not essential.

This role requires a well organised person with highly developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure. The successful candidate will also be educated to degree level. Non-practising teachers, whose teacher registration has lapsed, or teachers who are looking for after-school hours and weekend work may also apply.

We are always on the lookout for talented individuals who can work as Centre Supervisors as well.
