The end of digital collaboration - or is it? ACEL e-Teaching 25 (cross-blogged from thebelbird.blogspot.co.nz)

Image SourceEarlier this year I was approached to write an article for ACEL's e-Publications. I have focused it on the shift from a highly collaborative working environment to an environment where access to collaborative digital tools is more limited. The question I…See More

A good six months into my new role as Education Manager at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds is a good point for me to take some stock. We have come far, but every time I reach the peak of a mountain, I can see the next mountain range I want to climb:) Looking back over the last six months, there has been lots of learningof the necessary historic content (and there is always more to learn)how to run experiences outside the classroom for different ages, topics, learning needs etc.how to operate within…See More

Identity (cross blogged from thebelbird.wordpress.com)

Who am I? What am I? What makes me who and what I am? How much of who or what we are is determined by our genes, how much by the way we are brought up? How do we change over time? Success and Potential

{Be warned, more questions here than answers. As in most my posts, this comes from the heart and from 15 years in the NZ education system - but I feel I never have enough time to truly get to the bottom of other people's ideas and research that influence my thinking so I am thankful for anyone who can 'put the record straight' or help me answer some of my questions.}In education in New Zealand there is a lot of talk about success and potential. Ka Hikitia - Managing for Success - is the MoE…See More

The first post (cross blogged from thebelbird.wordpress.com)

This sounds much nicer than "the last post" though almost as frightening - what am I doing? Starting another blog, on a different topic, on a different platform? [In case you are interested in my quilting blog, you can find it here]. Maybe I can just blame someone - Hazel :-) - for getting me into this?

My name is Monika, I have been involved in education in New Zealand for the last…

When you type 'identity' into wikipedia, you get loads of choices as they say Identity may refer to:

Kia ora, Moinka...and I am absolutely delighted that you have joined the Ethos Online Community! You are bringing so much with you...and to think about quilting as an analogy - you have many of the patches, as well as the needle and cotton to help create a thing of beauty with the rest of the community. The design is something that will happen, organically, over time.

Please make yourself feel at home in this space (you'll recognise a few familiar faces, but otherwise folk don't 'know' each other) - please feel free to start conversations, jump in with comments, ideas and resources, and to ask questions. Welcome :) xxx
